A Swan

It is a story about a swan. A swan who dreams of freedom, happiness, lightness, love, who believes that one day it will be able to fly so high to the clouds that the whole world will be able to see its grace and beauty. But for now, it simply lives in the park lake, where it gracefully glides along and occasionally begs for bread from passers-by. It is an artist, whose life depends on these performances and the food he receives for it. Until one day it becomes a dying swan...

The creation is inspired by the story of the swan from the series «Histoires naturelles» by French writer Jules Renard. The choreographer felt resonance with the theme of the loss of youthful dreaminess and ambition in the mercilessness of everyday life. Interweaving the comic and the lyrical, the theatrical and the real, they invite the viewer to think about once-experienced desires and aspirations, deeply buried in the worries and bustle of adulthood.
