Music workshop

Led by Mattijs Vandamme

Led by P.A.R.T.S. teacher and musician Mattijs Vandamme, this workshop is an invitation to a practice of deep listening in relation to sound. Provoked by a ritual practice, we will dive into this deep listening state, triggering profound feelings and experimenting with the transformation and representation of these emotive sound qualities into graphic music notations.

Through this exploration, we investigate the power of our influences, the diverse musical phenomena and explore the intertwining of music and sound with visual art expression. We focus on works that nourish listeners, dancers and artists, investigating compositions that sharpen the ear and mind – hearing, listening, writing, drawing, ‘understanding’, trying, and longing for sound.
